Black ministers and community leaders in South Africa’s townships face extraordinary obstacles.
Their communities struggle with high (and rising) HIV/AIDS rates, increases in other infectious diseases, extreme poverty rates, high unemployment, and a growing number of child-headed households.
Often ministers and other community leaders receive little or no support for their efforts.
A Leadership programme at J.L. Zwane aims at strengthening leadership capacity and skills among ministers and community leaders so they can better serve and meet the needs of their congregations and communities.
These trainings develop into peer mentoring groups which help these leaders sustain their leadership growth.
